The is sue of paedophilia and child sex ual abuse is con nected with the crime de fined in ar ti cle 200 and in re lated ar ti cles of the Polish Pe nal Code. It may cause se vere harm to the phys i cal and psy chi cal health of a vic tim. One of the well-known con se quences is the cy cle of abuse: a per son who has been a vic tim can, un der cer tain sets of cir cum stances, be come an of fender. In this pa per the abused abuser hy poth e sis is dis cussed. It has been noted in the sexological lit er a ture that a lot of re search re sults ver ify this hypoth e sis. How ever, there are some re sults, from re li able re search pro jects, that do not sup port it. The au thor of this pa per of fers her own in ter pre ta tion.
